Eregion (Ost-in-Edhil) in The Rings of Power
Celebrimbor's city of Elven-smiths. The Three Rings are forged here, then the Seven and the Nine under Annatar, and the city is destroyed in Season 2.
About Eregion (Ost-in-Edhil)
Who lives here: Celebrimbor's Elven-smiths
Landscape: Forge-city · holly trees
Story: Close ally of Khazad-dûm. Its forges make every Ring of Power except the One, and its fall is one of the great disasters of the age.
In Tolkien’s books
Founded by Noldor Elves early in the Second Age; Celebrimbor and his smiths were deceived by Sauron as Annatar. The Three were made by Celebrimbor alone after Annatar left, and Sauron sacked the city about a century later.
The show compresses the timeline: Annatar is present while the Seven and Nine are made, and Eregion falls in the same season.
